11) The price of the Senior Service Manager
to ServiceShop upgrade can only go up from here. As time goes
on, it becomes more and more difficult to upgrade old systems.
This is something we have all learned many times over, and is a
common issue with software companies. This is one of many
reasons why they STOP SUPPORTING old systems. Today it is
comforting to know that virtually every supported Senior Service
Manager user is on Version 5 or higher. From there they go to
ServiceShop. In a year or so, we'll be moving the ServiceShop
people onto the next-generation product, and the Senior Service
Manager to ServiceShop upgrade will become a much less familiar,
much more nightmarish thing to do. You don't want to get caught
in that camp. Right now we're completely proficient on the
Senior Service Manager to ServiceShop migration; you should get
it done while all the issues are fresh in everyone's mind. Once
the issues are stale, it will be more difficult to orchestrate,
more disruptive to your business, and MORE EXPENSIVE in every
conceivable way. The price of this upgrade is not going down,
and it never will. There is no time like the present to get this
project handled.
