ServiceShop Modules included in the upgrade
The Senior Service Manager to ServiceShop upgrade includes
all current modules. QuickBooks Integrated Module may be
deactivated if you wish and can be activated at any time as long
as you are current in your support access agreement. Any new
modules may or may not be offered at no charge.
Not all features of Senior Service Manager have been replicated
in ServiceShop. The web site http://www.genesisfour.com/Upgrade_02_ssmupgrade
lists differences between these two programs, but it is possible
that some items may be missing. It is your responsibility to
determine if any missing functionality is critical to you before
proceeding with the upgrade. The web page
http://www.genesisfour.com/Upgrade_10_not_in_SS.htm lists
significant feature differences, although there is no guarantee
that every possible difference is listed.
Some (not all) differences are:
Customer documents are different. Reports are different. You
certify that you have reviewed these differences to your
satisfaction and fully accept them as they currently are.
G/L, A/P, and Banking are handled by QuickBooks. A/R is handled
by ServiceShop. There is no accounting support. GenesisFour supports the
QuickBooks interface only.
The end-user import routine offers you a choice of whether or
not to import job lists and estimates. You may not wish to
import them because of how they are presented.
Because sentence case looks better in Windows, the import
routine offers a case conversion for certain areas of the
program. If select this option, some cleanup may be required
afterwards.
You will be able to keep your old Senior Service Manager program
running, but only on a single computer (e.g., it has to run
single user mode) that is NOT the ServiceShop server.

Not all Senior Service Manager data is imported.
Not all data is imported from Senior Service Manager into
ServiceShop. Some examples: Appointment Schedule, Knowledgebase,
G/L Data, Payables, Banking, Parts Notes (although they can be
moved into the long description field by running a custom
routine which exists in Senior Service Manager prior to the
conversion), Parts Quotes. Other examples may exist. ServiceShop
does not have a “Knowledgebase”; data from the Knowledgebase
will not be salvaged.
Accounting-related functionality differences
Further, it is possible that in these areas of accounting
functionality Senior Service Manager can do something QuickBooks
cannot do, and it is understood that GenesisFour has no control
over what QuickBooks does or does not do. No warranties are made
in this regard. Specifically it is understood that Senior
Service Manager’s ability to post purchase orders directly
into payables has not been duplicated in ServiceShop, and that
purchase orders must therefore be posted to payables (in
QuickBooks) manually. It is also understood that ServiceShop’s
A/R module does not currently have the ability to calculate and
add finance charges to an A/R account (finance charges can be
applied manually). It is also understood that data from the G/L,
A/P, and A/R areas of Senior Service Manager is not imported
into QuickBooks (or anywhere).
Ample opportunity to evaluate
Prior to the actual upgrade, you will be supplied the
ServiceShop Upgrade CD, which will provide you with a
comprehensive means to reach a determination that ServiceShop
meets your requirements and expectations. You understand that it
is your responsibility to reach the determination that your
Senior Service Manager data has been correctly imported into
ServiceShop.
I acknowledge that I will be provided with a dry-run opportunity
to do this as outlined above, and I acknowledge that this is a
completely adequate method of reaching this determination. I
agree to sign a statement that you have done this to my own
satisfaction before proceeding with the actual, live upgrade.

I understand that Senior Service Manager’s G/L, A/P, and Banking
functions no longer exist in ServiceShop, and that ServiceShop
has been integrated to QuickBooks 2001/09 or QuickBooks Pro 2001/09
(which must be purchased at my own expense) in order to achieve
alternative, similar functionality. I understand that
GenesisFour’s support is limited to the ServiceShop interface to
QuickBooks only, that it specifically excludes support for
QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Pro, and that training for
QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Pro is not provided by GenesisFour,
or included it its support.

I understand that determination of completeness of ServiceShop
in any regard, and specifically in comparison to Senior Service
Manager, is my responsibility. I agree that I have reviewed this
issue to my satisfaction and am willing to proceed with the
upgrade from Senior Service Manager to ServiceShop on the basis
of that review, and accept full responsibility for the
thoroughness of that review and all conclusions I have drawn
from it. I agree that I will not place undo or unreasonable
demands on GenesisFour to add features to ServiceShop.

elements mentioned above) is not imported into ServiceShop, and
that some of that will be lost forever.
