3) Deprivation of new technology throughout
your company - The new system brings with it extensive new
functionality and benefits that your business is currently being
deprived of; functionality your business should absolutely be
benefiting by, and yet it isn't, because you still have the
company on the old system. You probably don't even know what
you're missing out on. Would anyone of rational mind deprive
themselves of a microwave oven in their kitchen, once they
comprehended what it could do for them? Does anyone buy a car
without air conditioning, or a TV without remote control? Only
those who reject technology for the sake of rejecting it, and
stubbornly refuse to embrace the future - would do something
like this. These are the same primitive people who mistakenly
attempt to apply the "why fix it if it ain't broke" philosophy
to technological advancements. What they are overlooking is that
this philosophy cannot be applied to software, because....
software simply does not break. It just keeps right on running,
while you keep right on missing out on the beauty and benefits
of vastly superior new technology. There is no time like the
present to finally get around to implementing the changes that
will allow your company to emerge out of the technology-deprived
mode it's in right now. As one Senior Service Manager user who
called to announce that they were ready to make this move
recently said... "I'm ready to come out of the Stone Age." For a
