LabelWriter 400 Turbo - Approved by GenesisFour

ServiceShop's label printing feature prints three types of labels as follows:

1) Customer Labels (yellow icon in the Customer Editor - looks like labels.. more or less)

  • ServiceShop supports a reasonable degree of configurability in terms of what is actually printed on the label.
  • Prints individual customer labels only (e.g., pick a customer, print a label for that customer).
  • Does not print batch labels for mailings, which ServiceShop supports via MS Word's Mail Merge to sheet labels feature

2) Parts Labels (same yellow icon - in the Maintain Inventory window) - with or without bar codes

  • ServiceShop supports a reasonable degree of configurability in terms of what is actually printed on the label.
  • Prints labels for parts, or parts bins, with or without bar codes
  • If you want to do bar coding with ServiceShop, you need this printer
  • Prints parts labels for individual parts from within the Maintain Inventory window
  • Prints parts labels for all parts on a P.O. (either one label per part #, or label quantity matches order quantity)

3) Vendor Labels (same yellow icon - on the Vendor Desktop)

  • ServiceShop supports a reasonable degree of configurability in terms of what is actually printed on the label.
  • Prints individual vendor labels only (e.g., pick a vendor, print a label for that vendor).

The Label Printer

  • The printer is a small, USB desktop thermal label printer from Dymo, which comes with label printing software that ServiceShop integrates with in order to work. You can see a picture of an example of this printer if you click on the yellow label-printing icon anywhere within ServiceShop that this icon appears, assuming no one has ever installed.
  • The Dymo label printer supports many different label formats provided by Dymo and widely available. We typically supply 2 label formats with the printer - address labels and shipping labels.
  • This printer can be connected via its USB cable to any PC on your network and shared, so you can print labels to it from any PC on your network.
    • (Note that this printer does not support printing to static cling labels, such as those used for oil change window stickers. Check Lube Sticker Printer Kit.)

The Label Printing Software

  • The Dymo label printing software comes with the printer.
  • It must be installed on each PC you wish to print labels from.
  • It can be used standalone and has extensive features for label printing design.
  • When ServiceShop integrates with it, it happens automatically (you don't have to separately launch it to print labels from within ServiceShop).

Starter Kit includes
